The ZIBFA Indaba 2015 was this year held from the 27th to the 28th of July under the theme: “growing the knowledge economy through research, writing, publishing and reading”. As usual the Fair kicked off with the Indaba which this year  was held over two days at its traditional venue, the Crowne plaza Monomutapa Hotel Great Indaba Room. ZANA this year had a compelling representation at the Indaba with the Information and Publicity Secretary Ms Naidoo being given the opportunity to prepare the Rapportuer’s Report for the Indaba. ZANA Chairperson Dr Samuel Makore had the opportunity to chair and moderate a significant number of the INDABA sessions.

The opening ceremony was held on day one of the INDABA. The Master of ceremony was Mr. HUGO RIBATIKA. The Chairperson of the General Council of ZIBF Dr. Ruby Magosvongwe welcomed dignitaries and guests with an elating ululation before inviting the Deputy Chair Professor Musaemura Zimunya to give the welcome remarks.This was swiftly followed by some remarks given by Mr Obey Bvute the Chairperson of the Executive Board of ZIBFA to give his remarks. In his remarks,  Mr. Bvute invited all members present to stand and observe two minutes of silence in memory of two departed writers whom we lost before ZIBF -Freedom Nyamubaya and Chenjerai Hove.
